"I saw what was some of the poorest judging I have ever seen," said a well-known coach who attended the event. "This system does not work and this is just one small incidence."

Another said Oda received magnificent presentation scores although his painful routine showed no transitions between moves or choreography. The judges' marks were "an embarrassment for the entire sport," another official said.
